On today’s adventures I stumbled upon a hidden waterfall that I didn’t know existed. Whilst driving to get to the Crone Wood carpark to do a hike up one of the mountains with my dog, and when I was about 8 minutes drive away I stopped my car in the middle of the road and saw a waterfall roadside. Then realising that it went under the road and continued, about 30 metres later there was a little area to pull in. I will admit that the trail down to the waterfall was not a trail at all, it was a sporadic and slightly slippery with a few branches attempting to wipe you out but once I made it down, eventually and very cautiously it was definitely worth the risk.
I’m going to start going on these little exploratory waterfall hunts and document there locations as when I googled “waterfalls in Ireland” the only ones to come up are the ones that have been turned into ‘sites’, or national treasures like Powerscourt Waterfall. This is one of the my to do’s for 2018. Getting to visit nearly every known and unknown waterfall in ireland would be pretty damn sweet way to spend this year.
My adorable dog Diz accompanied me on our little excursion.
Once we started working our way down some slightly errie slopes and eventually made it down near the ground, one tree in particular saved me from falling a few times, pulling at branches to ensure my safety was a requirement.
Finally making it down (and safely) opened up some stunning sights.
