Blindspot Analysis – The HoneyComb Theory

blindspot honeycomb

This is a little analysis / opinions (my own) of the TV show “Blindspot” – as were now on the twentieth episode (of 24) a LOT more has happened since i wrote the post to begin with – this labyrinth of a show has so many things happening but its not too much its the perfect balance of action, drama, intensity, and a few good laughs! The new addition to the show “Oscar” who was Jane’s (or Taylors) fiancee – and who is a part of the mission that jane herself planned, is a pretty intriguing character – and i think the honeycomb has something to do with him perhaps … also doesnt hurt that he’s the incredibly talented and attractive Francois Arnaud (main thing i know him as was Cesere Borgia) we firstly see him briefly in a dream of jane’s the main draw being his tattoo :

Then we meet him face to face – the ridiculously beguiling creature that he is :

It’s very interesting being shown and told little snippets of her past – they divulge information cleverly in this show – some big expense shows just try to cram far too much into the first season and then you don’t end up feeling like you fully grasp the characters and the complexities of each of their own little plots. NBC have done well – because of the stature and rank of the jobs Jane’s team has (Special Agents in the FBI) they’re dealing with really high- level situations – eg. Weaponized chemical warfare – massive bomb threats and convoluted twists at every corner – but i like that even though each episode is a somewhat different case – its fascinating and integral and since the cases are intense and well scripted in their own right i like that they hold out on cramming everything about Jane’s past into this season.

The writers and creators of this show spent years on it, writing and rewriting till they were happy, its incredibly detail oriented and should it run to its end they said it would be seven seasons! When i have the self-control i attempt to wait for two weeks + then watch the two new episodes in a row with a little herb and some munch.

Aaaanyhoo onto my suspicions about this HoneyComb pattern that is turning up literally everywhere – firstly we see that its tattooed on the back of Jane Doe / Taylor Shaw’s hand.

honeycomb

It just keeps showing up again.

honeycomb

Honeycomb.

Honeycomb..

Dropping us hints here and there, it’s worth noticing that on Jane’s hand when you zoom in to a high resolution picture, some of the sides of the hexagon appear to be slightly darker or thicker. It could end up being a series of one’s and zero’s in a complex pattern like computer coding.

Over and over – and interestingly – it also shows up in the behind the scenes pics n selfies on Instagram that Jaimie Alexander puts up, shes managed to naturally have her hand in the right position in a lot of the shots.

here : when her manager came to visit her on set and they chose to give him a full sleeve with – you guessed it! Honeycomb front and centre.

& lastly – a shot she put up on instagram for a “live tweet” session – has both her hand tattoo AND guess what shape is surrounding the title of the snap.

honeycomb

Furthermore – it is in the ground in the first episode – where Jane beats the crap outta some Chinese guy who was roughing up his wife. ( yasss jane!)

honeycomb

Also – something i find interesting see the small rectangular different shaded tiles beside the honeycomb in the picture above this text ^^^ is the exact pattern thats on Jane’s OTHER hand – coincidence? I have my doubts.. Have a look.

honeycomb

On top of that we have the honeycomb in dominating attention in NBC’s promotional pictures.

honeycomb

Again.

honeycomb

And again.

and again, this one from NBCs own instagram.

The first time we see Jane is her crawling out of the bag in Times Square – and what still of the previews is posted worldwide :

Also to add to the compiling list, in the flashback photos that Oscar gives Jane to fake memories with Weller; there’s pictures of her with him and his father fishing on a bridge, and the fence their standing behind is : you guessed it! A honeycomb pattern one! (apologies for the blurriness of said photo below i had to snippet it from a paused screen)

and we remember these photos were given to her by Oscar to falsify memories in order to strengthen her bond with Weller.

Now outside of the actual footage of the show – NBC has made promotional character bios and pages and have a browse thru them and see if anything literally leaps out at you.

honeycomb

The whole background is blue honeycomb and the name of each character in a specific one to itself!

honeycomb

Curiouser and curiouser..

honeycomb

It’s worth mentioning that every frame of the Blindspot intro has the honeycomb pattern throughout it – bottom right corner.

honeycomb

And finally these last two images are more promotional pictures that are on NBC Blindspot’s actual page :

honeycomb

& this little one too.

honeycomb

So in conclusion i am seriously looking forward to them telling us what that tattoo & pattern mean and correlate to! I’m quite curious about this as it is literally everywhere you look.
